Tribals carry pregnant woman on doli in Visakhapatnam, demand better roads

In Visakhapatnam’s Bodigaruvu village, tribals carried a pregnant woman on a makeshift doli to reach the hospital, highlighting the lack of proper road connectivity to the village.
The woman, who was experiencing severe abdominal pain, could not be transported via the inaccessible road leading to the village. To ensure she received medical care, villagers tied a makeshift doli and carried her across a chaotic road and a stream.

Visuals of the incident show villagers navigating the difficult terrain with the doli, underlining the hardships faced in emergencies.
The residents of Bodigaruvu have urged the authorities to construct a proper road to their village, pointing out that such challenges recur frequently, especially during medical emergencies.

“We face this problem often. A proper road would make a huge difference,” said one of the villagers, emphasising the need for urgent action to prevent further hardships.
